Water high dilution research and homeopathy
During his past scientific career Salvatore Chirumbolo has reported several findings and evidence about the role of high diluted solutions on bioactive compounds into water, principally by using the method to investigate basophil biology in vitro. He was the first italian researcher who contributed with his discoveries to those of Sainte-Laudy and Belon on high diluted histamine (Chirumbolo S, Brizzi M, Ortolani R, Vella A, Bellavite P. Inhibition of CD203c membrane up-regulation in human basophils by high dilutions of histamine: a controlled replication study. Inflamm Res. 2009 Nov;58(11):755-64). He participates in the interesting debate about homeopathy, hormesis and the physical property of water in the high diluted and agitated solutions (Chirumbolo S. Gelsemine and Gelsemium sempervirens L. Extracts in Animal Behavioral Test: Comments and Related Biases. Front Neurol. 2011;2:31. Epub 2011 May 16, in press; Bellavite P, Marzotto M, Chirumbolo S, Conforti A. Advances in homeopathy and immunology: a review of clinical research. Front Biosci (Schol Ed). 2011 Jun 1;3:1363-89; Chirumbolo S. Randomized blinding in basic research of homeopathy: some comments. Complement Ther Med. 2011 Apr;19(2):107-8;Chirumbolo S. Basophil and high diluted bio-active molecules: what lies beneath? Med Sci Monit. 2010 Dec;16(12):LE22; Chirumbolo S, Bellavite P. "Homeopathy: ex nihilo fit nihil"? He gained the first full time indeterminant job in Italy concerning the research about CAMs in the group of prof. Paolo Bellavite. Currently he is studying the role of water in biology respect to its action in UHDs and in BRANs.
